The European Union and the Southern Caucasus

Summary/Abstract: It has been seen that the European Union, based on the last wave of enlargement, reviews its targets and becomes a global actor in the internetional system toward a new political formation. EU introduced several policies to secure its expanding borders and correspond expectations about Union’s future. Within these policies, Caucasus acquiring a new shape also has a place. It is aimed both to warrant stabilization and enhance international realations by noticing a potential role especially on the energy supply. In this article, EU policies toward the Caucasus are explanied and both the region states and region powers’ attitudes towards EU are analyzed.
