The role of surveys in the political process

Summary/Abstract: Societies change, and so should survey research organisations. The latter should tune in their research methods (telephone surveys, street polls), methodological quality assurance as well as follow-up research and methodological trials. It is indispensable to learn more about Poles’ perceptions of politicians and political parties in order to more accurately predict election results and avoid situations similar to that in 2005 when all the major polling organisations had shown a lead for those who actually failed in the general elections.
