Višejezične pjesme bosanskohercegovačkih pjesnika na orijentalnim jezicima
Multilingual poems of Bosnian-Herzegovinian poets in Oriental languages

Summary/Abstract: Poetry in Islamic culture is not just a gift with which a small number of members of the community can stand up thus creating a parallel reality of their own existence in this transient world, but also a gift that gives them an opportunity to significantly influence most social, political and economic trends in the world they belong in. Aware of social importance of their own gift, poets used their poems to point out to social issues, offer solutions, ennoble the quality of readers’ lives, but also contribute to strengthening the feeling of closeness among all people their poems aimed at. In intent to successfully demonstrate their own poetic gift, but also deliver their message to as many admirers of fine words, poets often wrote their poems in two or more languages used by various ethnic groups to communicate on the national level or by nations on the international level. Multilingual poems in oriental languages were written by B&H poets as well, thus giving such an important contribution to enriching Islamic culture. How big and how important that contribution was is question best answered by the fact that the only so far found poem in four language - Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Bosnian – was created on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the Ottoman rule and that it discusses then B&H reality with its content.
