Summary/Abstract: Mustafa Fevzi (Sarhan), the deputy of Manisa in the early years of the Turkish Republic, was the of the last Şer’iye and Evkaf deputy working between October 30, 1923 and March 3,1924. After his accomplished education in Akhisar first and subsequently in Istanbul, he served as an officer in different posts of the state. He served as a deputy of Saruhan in the Mebusan Parliament of the Ottoman Empire, during the II. and the III. terms. And during the Turkish Republic's II, III and IV terms, he took active participation in the parliament as a deputy of Manisa. He was the object of a parliamentary question, by virtue of an event which was known as 'Kargga Fetvası' in the public. He acted in unison with the people of the reformist, showing loyalty to the reforms such as keeping the institutions of convention and religion, for instance -caliphship , Şer'iye and Evkaf Vekaleti- away from works of the state. Mustafa Fevzi (Sarhan) worked for elections as a deputy of Manisa, participated in the state cases on behalf of the parliament, and delivered many speeches in TBMM, the Turkish Grand National Parliament.
