Summary/Abstract: The concept of rural development is the process which mentions the economic and social improvement of rural communities. In general, rural development aims to remedy the socio-cultural and economic differences between the urban and rural population, prevent the urban-rural migration and create employment. One of the most important tools used for development of rural areas is financing. Today, technology and increasing mechanization necessitate the renewing of farmers and rural areas. And developments in agriculture, irrigation and livestock have brought many innovations in the field of agriculture. Farmers are facing to financing problem for adaptation of these developments and facing to lack of income and capital. To finish these problems and to finance the farmers, Ziraat Bank and agriculture credit cooperatives are financing the farmers from proclamation of republic to today. But today private banks are giving credits to farmers more and more. In the study, financing problems in rural area, the role of banks and agriculture credit cooperatives is being examined. Other quantative data datas about the agricultural credits which has been used by farmersshall also be presented.
