Summary/Abstract: The article describes consonantal combinations in Czech upon a model of distributional unit. It is defined as a bundle of positions where each position can be filled with a phoneme or remain empty. It is shown how the phonotactic structure can be described upon such a unit. In particular, the paper outlines how the structure of consonantal combinations can be derived from it.
