NE/PRAVIDELNOST STUPŇOVÁNÍ ADJEKTIV A ADVERBIÍ
(IR)REGULARITY OF ADJECTIVE AND ADVERBS COMPARISON

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with issue, which is the subject of discussion in the Czech linguistics for many years: is the category of comparison a grammatical or derivational one? It contributes to the discussion with the new data that have emerged from quantitative treatment of corpus data, especially is concerned with frequency behavior of category of comparison compared with prototypical grammatical category of number. The results imply that the comparison can not clearly be classified among grammatical nor derivational categories. It remains on the borderline between grammatical and lexicological research of language.
