Summary/Abstract: Regarding several selected phenomena of Slovak declination this article shows synergies and conflictfulness of codification with analogical developmental tendecies in Slovak. In the development of Slovak declination mostly the analogy was as a moving power used to eliminated anomalies inherited from the previous state and anomalies which were in the morphologic system as a result of phonetic changes. Codification in dependence on the chosen criteria regulates further development of language in conjunction with the developmental tendencies, supports their wider application, but can also be with them in conflict, does not respect them – it works not only as a supporting factor in a strenghtening of the regularity (e.g. ruke, v  potoku), but also as a fixating, stabilizing factor in maintaining irregularities (e.g. žiaci, otcovi, jedny, všetky). Even the mere codification, however, can in consequence of conflictfulness of criteria of literary language create a new anomaly (tie pekné).
