Summary/Abstract: Literature that deals with the history of sufism, dervish orders and tekkes in Bosnia and Herzegovina says that Mostar had two sufi establishments related to the Naqshbandi order. That are Mehmed Kosi-Pasha’s khaniqah and the tekke of Ali-Pasha Rizvanbegović. This paper wishes to shed more light on the affairs of this tariqat in Koski’s khaniqah. This khaniqah was openned in the beginning of the 17th century, but it is not certain under which tariqat’s rules it was supossed to be run, for it was not speficied in the Waqfnama. Even though contradictory information was initially given about the character of this khaniqah, it is most likely that it belonged to the Khalveti tariqat at first. Also, in time the khaniqah grew into a madrasa. Despite that, the sufi tradition remained almost until the very closing of the tekke in 1924. It is a known fact that the Naqshbandi ran the khaniqah in the second half of the 19th century. Based on the original documents and archive material the author of this paper brings some new information on the affairs of the Naqshbandi tariqat in this khaniqah in the aforementioned period. Also, this material gives some particular details significant for the history of this tariqat in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
