Summary/Abstract: Penetration of the Lutheranism in Transylvania. Martin Luther's Reformation penetrated quickly in the Northen and Central Europe. In Transylvania which had extensive relations with the Western countries, Lutheran ideas came here after 1520, through many ways (in the XVI-th century). So, German people from Transylvania were converted to Lutheranism and a part of the Hungarians to Reformed faith. Romanians, the majority population of Transylvania remained further rooted in their own faith (the Ortodox one). Lutheran religion hat its merit in the cultural life of Transylvanian land. It gave to the Romanian people a good example for translation of the religious books Slavonic into Romanian language.
