Summary/Abstract: Andreas Gunesch: Fides Saxonum in Transylvania (1697). A Historical Apology from the Beginning of the Habsburg Rule in Transylvania. In his work, Andreas Gunesch Transylvanian Saxon Lutheran Reverend shows the loyalty of his people to the Transylvanian Ruler in power by historical examples. The study not only presents the work and its author; it also seeks the possible motives for its writing by throwing light on the Transylvanian Saxon politics during the years of 1690s, the inner relations of Sibiu, and finally the diplomatic and military situation of 1697.
