Summary/Abstract: Alex.Stefanescu makes here a portrait of Mircea Cartarescu, one of the best Romanian writers of the moment, very successful both in Romania and abroad. Cartarescu's attempt to reach achievement in every literary genre as well as the talent he proves when approaching new literary genres produces envy and some of Romanian writers look down on Cartarescu's latest book "Jurnal". This attitude is strongly resented by the author of this article who calls for honest appreciation of this writer's work.
