Summary/Abstract: The archaeological site from Limba-Oarda de Jos was revealed after intensive investigations and fieldwork, during the XX century. The stratigraphical situation and the materials revealed proved to be very interesting and determined excavation around this point in 1996, using trenches for stratigraphical control (6 x 2 m) and surfaces (6 x 4 m) for excavating completely the archaeological contexts (fig. 1-4). The surface IV/1996 revealed a dwelling with an extreme rich inventory (L1/1996). Special pottery, several grinding stones, antler and bull horns, idols, a specific amphora with prosopomorphic lid, these are some of the materials who are the subject of the present study. The author try to realize a contribution to the knowledge of the spiritual life of Neolithic communities belonging to the Vinča culture, starting from the analysis of a special house, interpreted as a cultic place, associated with the ritual grinding stones, idols, ceramic pottery, most probably dedicated for the worship ceremonials. A special emphasis is given to the presentation of the main general features of the anthropomorphic plastic. The description of types, manufacturing technologies, the specific anatomical features, the characteristics are presented by authors. Finally, some assumptions are advanced regarding the significance of these artifacts, respectively short parallels with similar finds from Transylvania and Banat. The complex stratigraphy, the archaeology and the materials revealed are very important for clarifying important aspects of the Early and Middle Neolithic phenomenon in the intra- Carpathian area. These are some of the reasons that determined the planning of wider and systematic excavations in this site in the near future.
