Summary/Abstract: This paper present the theoretical foundations of financial liberalization developed by MacKinnon (1973) and Shaw (1973) to explain the different critical post-Keynesian, neo-structuralists and the problems of asymmetric information in the credit market. After this analysis, we seek to develop a comprehensive manner the original financial liberalization theory, extensions, and its expected impact on emerging economies
