Summary/Abstract: Research on Romanian folklore is relatively new scientific field, having in mind the period when the nation appeared and its first folk creations. Romanian folklore made its first steps in the 19th century. The phenomenon appeared as a logical reaction to the aspirations of national identity creation, present in the whole Europe in the mentioned period.
