Summary/Abstract: It is known that no society can develop itself in isolation, but within the sociopolitical, historical and geographical context where it exists. Once accepted as an EU member, Romania has enhanced its concern for complying the Romanian education system with the European countries’ ones. The government representatives of the European countries consider that they have to focus especially on the quality of initial teacher training and improvement of their working conditions because the teachers are the ones who bear responsibility for human resource training in all the fields of activity. There is still a debate at this level on the development of the teachers’ skills and young people's interest in the didactical professions, focusing on the organization of initial training of teachers in such a manner as to form those basic skills necessary for the increasing quality services in education, stimulating working conditions in order to make the teachers stay motivated and dedicated to their teaching or managerial career.
