Summary/Abstract: Paper concentrates on reconstruction of pedagogical views of Florian Bochwic, a little-known Polish philosopher of the 19th century. Proper education, according to him, should consist not only in obtaining knowledge and practical skills, but above all in moral education of a person. The aim of an individual is to be useful to the society, as well as to conduct his or her life according to religious values. Cultural identity of F. Bochwic is characterized by his social status. On one hand he was a continuator of Sarmatism, on the other he was a representant of Polish provincial intelligentsia.
