Summary/Abstract: Quite a number of Old Turkic runeiform inscriptions were found in Mountainous Altai during the last decades. They are mostly written in a Runic variety in some respects very different from the one found in Mongolia or in the basin of the Yenisey river in the Turkic Republics of Khakassia and Tyva. Recent research conducted by the authors of the article has shown that there are about ninety Old Turkic runeiform inscriptions that have been discovered in the Altai Mountains. Our Internet website www.altay.uni-frankfurt.de documents these inscriptions. The article presents two stones with petroglyphs and two Runic inscriptions recently discovered in the valley of the river Nižnij Inegen by Evgenij Matockin. We publish a comparative analysis of the petroglyphs on these stones as well as our readings of the Runic inscriptions: their transliterations, transcriptions and translations.
