Summary/Abstract: The study refers to the taxonomy of human emotions (Jarymowicz, Imbir 2010), distinguishing emotions of the different origin. This taxonomy is based on the model of the low vs. high roads to amygdala (LeDoux 1996/2000), and differentiation between two sequences of emotions’ elicitation (Zajonc 1980/1985; Reykowski 1985): primary affect – cognition vs. cognition – secondary affect. In the EEG study participated 25 woman. Sets of words were used to evoke emotions of different types. Data presented in the article concern seven components of evoked potentials (between 100 and 850 ms). Data show that the average amplitude of the potential components was varied: both as a function of valence, and the evaluative system. Analysis of average amplitudes showed: (1) the effects of the emotional valence – mainly on the right side of the head (electrodes Fp2, F8, T4, P4), and (2) the effects of the evaluative systems – at electrodes F, C and P on both sides of the head.
