Summary/Abstract: The article explores the elements of the communication situation and highlights the importance of the employed verbal code. Using the meta-analytical method and the elements of the comparative method, through language, communicators are legitimized as participants in the communication process. They comply with the requirements of role and situation. In order to be taken seriously and be effective in practice, their speech must be contextualized in relation to the rights and obligations of the communication situation. The definition, redefinition and enforcement of the communication situation occur in the registers of communication language. Although the ideal of communication is represented by symmetrical communication situations, the vast majority of communication situations are asymmetric.
