Summary/Abstract: There are linguistic phenomena in which morphemes contract syntagmatic relations with words. In this paper, we try to bring to attention the fact that this kind of conjunct units, expressed by the derivational pattern prefixoid + word → syntagmatic lexical formation, though researched by linguists, have not obtained a linguistic status within the derivative science. From a theoretical-derivative linguistic perspective, this study focused on the finalization of this process of lexical creation (structured in the lexical formula: prefixoid + lexie → composite-syntagm of syntactic-derivational type) which does not match the pattern of the affixates or composed. We call this process afixoido-composition and the resulting syntagmatic formations – afixoido-composites. From this perspective of analysis, we consider that afixoido-composition is an independent process of lexical formation, based on the functional status of the dual nature of the afixoid (the intermediate status between roots and affixes; the bivalent character to act as theme and affix), which contracts a common or scientific lexical base. A not certified syntagmatic derivative is not considered ungrammatical, but a possible not certified lexical creation. One can construct a theoretical derivative starting from a real lexical base. This option provides possible virtualities of afixoido-composite derivation. The combinatorial virtualities lie in the mobility of the lexical morpheme to contract lexical elements on the paradigmatic axis.
