Summary/Abstract: Lancrăm church’s icons, so important in the vision of those that studied before, still prove a very pretious source of information for the study of the Romanian artistic phenomenon from Transylvania. Gheorghe Pavelescu’s intuition was correct: in Lancrăm existed a icon painting workshop, some of them belonged to Costea family and the only piece discovered until now, which proves that this location belongs to the group discussed here. Also, to this group belongs the only icon known, which keeps the signature of Nicolae from Ludoş and which, by the datation of 1787, helps to the establishment of the age and geography of glass-icon painting practiced by the Romanians from Transylvania. Also the icons painted on wood and glass by Vasile Munteanu from Săliştea Sibiului, which are important for the pointing out of the preoccupation as well- unpresumed until now- of this painter for the new technic and for the training of the icon painters that promoted it with great success on the Valley of Sebeş.
