Summary/Abstract: In the new economy, in the knowledge society there is a shift from the activities involving the skills to manipulate and manage, to the activities involving the development and application of knowledge. Thus, future professions involve achieving a high level of competence, focusing on the initiative, creativity and problem solving. To perform on the market, organizations rely on their human capital, rather than the physical or financial one, the creative and innovative potential of their employees on their ability to develop new knowledge and ideas. In this respect, education becomes part of the process of globalization and economic resource base that can support a long-term competitive advantage
