Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the attitudes towards filial responsibilities and subjective care expectations of the elderly parents left behind in Lithuania. Normative solidarity is compared between two types of transnational families: elderly parents having emigrant children and those who have both emigrant and non-emigrant children. Based on the results of logistic regression, significant individual and familial predictors of normative solidarity are revealed.
