Summary/Abstract: According to a historical treatise by Ernest Renan, people first need to share willingness to belong to a community in order to be considered a "nation". All "objective" parameters such as language, culture, origin, territory etc, which are commonly inferred in determining the national identities/differences, would not be sufficient without this widespread willingness of individuals to consider themselves as members of that community. However, they must remember many things collectively, as well as forget many others, in order to perceive this community as fate-ordained, resistant to historical change and superior to any individual and particular accidents.
