Summary/Abstract: Lately, questions of study effectiveness have received a considerable attention at political, institutional and individual levels. It is important that each student should be open to the possibilities offered by lifelong learning. This article concentrates on the issues of teacher preparation for the effective student learning. The data retrieved from empirical and expert research enables to answer the following questions: what elements constitute the didactics of universities and how doctoral students in education science can acquire didactical competencies and sub-competencies
