Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper, containing the information gathered in a survey, is to complement and enrich contemporary didactic and linguistic studies. The diagrams and their analyses included in the paper are a preliminary diagnosis of important problems requiring in-depth analysis. The diagnosis is based on the description of Polish Philology students’ consciousness as future Polish language teachers in relation to their language competence and what is more, the influence of stress-causing situations on their language fluency. Furthermore, the paper comprises an exploration of the actual students’ psychological and methodological preparation to conduct lessons in stressful situations.
