Susceptibility to suggestion in adolescents and adults – the usefulness of the MISS questionnaire in schools

Summary/Abstract: Suggestibility of young adults has not yet been well studied. Previous experiments have focused on analysing the relationship between age and suggestibility in the context of disinformation. The present study shows differences between adolescents and adults in a range of different dimensions of vulnerability to suggestions, including consumer suggestibility, peer conformity and persuasiveness. It also shows gender differences in terms of different types of suggestion. The results are discussed in relation to previously published studies.
