Summary/Abstract: This text deals with the contradictory nature of the relationship between culture and politics, and their intertwining. The basic opinion stated within the text lies in the statement that we do not have a clearly defined and stable cultural policy which should be based on civilization priorities. The need to establish such cultural policy is set before our society as one of the most important demands. Only a policy ennobled by culture can gain the necessary respect and start the implementation of democratic standards within a developing society. In our society culture is currently within a great disintegration void, on the one side flanked by the aggressive and ever present commercialization, and on the other, by the need to determine the state and the society on the basis of demands to lead a cultural policy which is not merely an expression of free market and daily circumstances.
