Correlations between Cognitive Decline and the Variables of Age, Gender, and Level of Education in Dementia

Summary/Abstract: Dementia is a syndrome characterized by a permanent affection of the cognitive functioning, which installs itself progressively. Although dementia is considered as a “democratic” affection, that does not take into account the categories of social class or race, by means of the present research we aim to understand whether dementia is influenced by factors such as: age, gender or educational level of the individuals. The research has been developed on a group of 300 patients of both sexes, diagnosed with dementia, presenting a certain level of cognitive decline, emphasized by the intermediary of the Reisberg scale, of the Mini Mental Examination Scale and of the Clock Test.
