Summary/Abstract: This paper presents a series of results obtained from a field survey conducted at national level and statistically representative for the population of working age in Romania. The survey was conducted within a project funded from a national program and aimed to measure people’s attitudes towards work and responsibilities of spouses within their families. The premise of this approach was that the results of such research would provide important reference points for the Romanian government in developing policies aimed at promoting gender equality on labor market in order to reconcile work and family life. The authors of this article are scientific researchers at the National Research Institute for Labor and Social Protection (INCSMPS) and were part of the research team that implemented the project.
