Summary/Abstract: Quality of life became an issue in the 20th century in both public opinion and scientific life. Quality of life and health are closely connected since a new concept of health and illness emphasizes the biopsychosocial (and recently, biopsychosocial-spiritual, BPSS) origin of them. The author argues issues such as the human ecological concept of the quality of life; quality of life and health promotion in consumer culture. A new health consciousness may arise in today’s society including a complex approach to human beings.
