Summary/Abstract: Wars have been and they still are, irrespective of the period they took place, great information consumers, depending on the battle pace and space, and having as a goal the aiming of the necessary elements for the assessment, analysis and, in the end, the decision taking, in the benefit of the commanders. No doubt, the cognition of the enemy situation is one of the basic requirements in achieving the success in combat, conferring the commander more liberty in action, more boldness in his conception and allowing him to make the right decision in relation to the operations circumstances.
