Summary/Abstract: Soviet film shows in Yugoslavia after World War II was the part of the transition to the Soviet model of social organization and was under an ideological framework. One of the institutions of new Yugoslavia, which organized performances of Soviet films, was a Society of Cultural Cooperation between Yugoslavia and the USSR. Films were supplied by VOKS (All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries) and were shown in the closed mode to the authorities, party members, trade unions, workers, students and pupils. Sometimes the film was used as a supplement to other activities of the Company, such as exhibitions and lectures. Although we can not determine the exact number, it is clear that since 1947, Soviet films were shown in large cities in Yugoslavia, and from 1948 – also in the villages. Clash of Communist parties of Yugoslavia and the USSR broke those ties in the field of culture, just the same as in other fields.
