Summary/Abstract: Adriana Babeţi takes an impressive interview, in which Ioan Holender, imposing character in Europe's cultural and musical life, gives a few highlights of the material he chose to include in his celebrated book, "From Timişoara to Vienna". Both his Romanian experiences and his subsequent Austrian evolution help retracing an important part of Central European history, as seen from the point of view of probably one of the most perceptive of its undergoers.
