Aspects Concerning the Formation of the Romanian Élites from Transylvania in the 18th Century

Summary/Abstract: The author of the study refers to the criteria that were used in the definition of the élite concept and mainly of the Transylvanian élite. He is proposing in this context a large acceptation of the Transylvanian Romanian small élite in the 18th century. Dealing with its categories, he insists upon the Romanian gymnasium and college graduates, a very difficult question to study, until the publication of the nominal lists contained in the school registers. In this domain too, remarkable results have already been obtained in the Institute from Târgu Mureş.
