Summary/Abstract: The paper shows the issue of poetry as the important supporting remedy in faith education of children in age of 3 to 6. Poetical works being full of various artistic expressions correlate with briskly developing language of small children. Simultaneously assuming the form of rhymes, songs and other forms in an accessible way they present the truths of the faith and help adopt them. Apart from understandable and simple to master the plot, the poetry carries the moral message realizing the educative function in the process. Finally by being approaching or straight out imitating the baby talk, poetry gives ready forms to teacher, with the help of which child can turn to God. The poetry at the nursery school can enrich religious education with its essential elements – biblical, theological and existential. It is also an excellent remedy supporting the accomplishment of tasks of the catechesis: education, upbringing and acquainting, and with them to achieve its main purpose – the communion with Jesus.
