Summary/Abstract: Media in contemporary world have direct impact on public, but also on political decision-makers. More and more people worldwide watch the same programs, while simultaneously the Internet is becoming the significant source of information for bigger and bigger number of people worldwide. Thus new communities of information users are created and these new communities are not limited with space. Globalization of media forms, media firms and media contents significantly changes the work of media professionals. They are caught in the between commercial demands of media owners and race for profit on one hand, and professional standards on the other. This article examines challenges of journalism profession in 21st century.
