Summary/Abstract: The article considers Peter Stockwell’s Texture: A Cognitive Aesthetics of Reading (2009). It first presents the book in the context of cognitive grammar, which was created by Ronald Langacker in the early 1980s. After a detailed presentation of the individual topics developed by Stockwell in his book, the article focuses on Stockwell’s conception of the aesthetic force of a work of literature.
