Summary/Abstract: The image of the Red Army soldier created by the propagandist military media of Karelian front is analyzed by the author. Dynamics in understanding the meaning of “heroic” and correlation of that image with the concept of “ordinary” depending on the situation on the front are shown in the article. Special attention is paid to the ideological change, to the ratio between revolutionary internationalism and national patriotism in military propaganda during the war.
