Summary/Abstract: A short review of social and intellectual setting in which the magazine “Putokaz” emerged and developed, with special mention of difficulties it faced. Special attention was dedicated to the work Hasan Kikić as the editor-in-chief, and his social engagement. The importance of monograph: “Putokaz: list za društvena i književna pitanja: književnohistorijska monografija” / “Signpost: journal on social and literary issues: literary and historical monograph” (published by Public Library “Alija Isaković, Gradačac, 2007.), has also been discussed.
