The analysis was conducted on the basis of materials and studies of historians and sociologists focusing on Silesia. The position of social roles of women in Silesia have been changing gradually. Currently, professional work is written in the biographies of women. Based on the results of the research conducted by the author, the place of work in the lives of women will be shown.
