International Financial Crisis: An Analysis of some Causes of the Crisis

Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author will try to explain one of the most important causes of the international financial crisis – the use of the dollar as the universal currency and the need to structure the international monetary and financial scenes in a different way. There are many causes for the crisis on the international financial market, but the major ones stem from its most sensitive segment – the foreign exchange market. The key role of the international foreign exchange market is to connect financial markets of different countries so as to enable payments in international financial cooperation. In modern times, the strength of national economies has changed and deficiencies of the current international monetary systems have deteriorated, thus creating the need for East European and Asian currencies to take an adequate place on the international financial market.
