Is There Textual Criticism Today?

Summary/Abstract: This contribution presents the planned critical hybrid edition of the works of František Gellner (1881–1914) and Karel Hlaváček (1874–1898), which is currently being prepared by the Publications Department of the Institute of Czech Literature, Prague. This is a reader’s edition of a critically verified text (without extensive commentary or bibliographical information) published as a paper book as well as a DVD, hence the word ‘hybrid’ in the title of the edition. The second part of the article explains the approaches used in the editing of the manuscripts and the recording of variant readings.
