Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the course and results of the EU referendum in the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia). The ethnic composition of these countries is strongly influenced by the Soviet era, when many members of Russian-speaking nationalities moved to the Baltic countries. Now tensions and gaps between Russian-speaking nationalities and Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians may be observed. The results of EU referendum in the Baltic countries provide an example of differences in political opinions in relation to the European Union, in which a significant influence is attributable purely to the ethnic composition.
