Summary/Abstract: In Article is devoted to constructions with reflexive pronoun and an inanimate subject, cf.: Eta fraza soderzhit v sebe glubokij smysl. The constructions include a transitive verb and reflex-ive. Such reflexive constructions are the result of valence-increasing derivation. They correlate with intransitive constructions, such as V etoj fraze soderzhitsia glubokij smysl. Such valence-increasing derivation occurs in the domain of non-agentive meanings. The process of valence-increasing derivation is compared with valence-decreasing derivation. Valence-decreasing der-ivation is considered on a material of de-causative constructions, cf.: Fortochka otkrylas’; Zveri soderzhats’a v kletkah. Considered material illustrates that, first, in the Russian language, along with the process intranzitivation acts tranzitivization relatively regular process and, secondly, that agentive and interpretive spheres arranged in different ways, and this should be taken into account in the linguistic description.
