Summary/Abstract: The article covers the period between 1491 and 1560, i. e. the period when Pardubice estate was in the possession of Perstejn family. It was then when the whole series of events took place, leading in their consequences to the creation of a typical model of an aristocratic manor of an early stage. Successful functioning of the whole complex mechanism, which aristocratic manor undoubtedly was, would be unthinkable without the rank of specialised professional clerks, coming mostly from the lower nobility who, with their abilities and experience, helped to keep the whole system going. This group of individuals, who formed the executive administrative body and governed the estate through the instructions from the nobility (in this case, of Pardubice), stands in the foreground of this paper. The picture of how the main administrative posts were staffed during this period is outlined here. The lower-ranked clerks or “servants” (non-specific in the sources) are mentioned only if the person in the position was interesting in one way or other. Not only the life-long career is shown in outline, but also, whith the help of sources of mostly regional provenance, the possession of the property in view of the residential Pardubice.
