Summary/Abstract: The article presents an approved authoritative edition of Bulgarian scientific periodicals – the journal Bulgarian Folklore turned thirty five years. It appeared as a result of the necessity of the newly established Institute of Folklore at BAS to have a periodical. It accomplishes the aspirations of Bulgarian scholars in the field of folklore studies to have their specialized edition. The text adduces arguments that the journal has a positive role in the development of Folklore Studies and is of great importance for realization of theoretical and research work, many-sided terrain work, popularizing and educational work of the Institute. In the journal Bulgarian Folklore folklore studies are published; problems and tendencies in contemporary folklore science are precisely revealed. The thematics emphases of publications represent the main accents of modern scientific thought in folklore that relate to cultural identity and intercultural interactions in national and European context, cultural politics in contemporaneity, personal aspects of folklore. The presentation attention is focused also on the examination of folklore as cultural heritage, as tradition or modern practice, as a daily culture. The journal Bulgarian Folklore is a tribune of scientific dialogue and documents versatile process of changes in folklore studies. Founded in 1975 it was transformed into a periodical journal in 1980. Its scientific profile was more accurately defined and from 1995 it became a journal of Folklore Studies, Ethnology and Anthropology. Thematic books have been published since 1993, each one revealing a main research problem, including more particular but no less important topics, which define the specifics of folklore knowledge. The article presents a large number on thematic books through revealing scientific concepts, achievements, contribution. It is pointed out that behind each and every issue book stands the hardwork of an editor of issue, editor-in-chief as also behind every publication stands a researcher, an author. The achievements prove the high quality of intellectual and scientific level, professionalism and express constant striving for success of Bulgarian Folklore Studies.
