Summary/Abstract: The review discusses Agnieszka Izdebska’s book on the literary creativity of Władysław L. Terlecki, whose works are lately viewed as more and more distant from the recent literary fashions. Chances for recontextualisation of his works and bringing them up to date are seen by Izdebska in a new approach to the problem of character creation and in adopting a postcolonial perspective to interpreting Polish-Russian relationships that they present.
