Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this article is to present the idea of stress management interventions and the direct programmes where the employee’s skills of coping with stress are developed. In the first part of the article, concepts of the employee’s development and occupational stress are broadly reviewed. It also presents specific interventions that were oriented towards the development of stress management skills (individual level interventions), such as cognitive-behavioral trainings, relaxation or sport activity. According to many international studies, some of those interventions, e.g. cognitive training or health promotion, are more effective and useful than others. At the end of this paper there are results of research on stress management interventions conducted in Poland. The author presents various kinds of individual level interventions and discusses the problem of quality and effectiveness of those actions in Polish companies.
